Gratitude

Everything makes sense when we connect the dots backwards. When we keep connecting the dots backward, at some point we are in wonder!!!!! Any thing that happened in life were the best that could have had happened, and the faith stops us from connecting the dots backward and march forward with a smile. I am grateful for my 💖parents. For all the love they showered on me. My 👬brothers who were always there for me. To the beautiful township where I grew up in. Half of my friends still long to get back to that township life. I am grateful for my school teachers, my school friends, my first 💘crush in school. Grateful for my college days. My dear friends in college, my hostel mates, my seniors 😃. My first crush in college. Without my crushes life would be dry. The feeling of saying farewell to the seniors. unable to express the friendship we hated to loose. Learnt to move on. Friendship meant everything then. My first 💖love. To all his friends. To his family. Grateful for the mise...

Bhaskara-II

When I first found out about the show on Bhaskara-II, I had questions - "Who is this guy? and why was he given so much importance in Math!!!!" I researched the  online resources on Bhaskara's works a bit. Something quickly struck a chord with me Bhaskara-II documents five different modes of multiplying two numbers, as practiced in those days. One of them is a split method. For example,  12 * 12 is split as (10 + 2) * 12 to make it easy for beginners to multiply. 120 + 24 = 144.  Interestingly this is how I used to do addition when I was a kid. I used to split to smaller numbers to add up to 10. For eg: 17 + 15. I see the units as 7+3+2 = 10+2. I used to split it to make 10 first and add the rest. Sounds crazy but it worked for me. I also came to know some more interesting facts In those days they weighed with fruit seeds and grains!!!! Isn’t awesome. Bhaskara-II was not only a mathematician but also very good at astronomy. He was good at poe...

Meditation during Pregnancy

Meditation during pregnancy is a blessing. I was so glad that I learned meditation offered by Art of living[AOL], it was very helpful during my pregnancy. It relives stress, keeps the mind calm and brings peace of mind. With previous experience of miscarriage, I was worried a lot. To top it, morning sickness made it even worse. Meditating twenty minutes, twice a day, made all the difference. It put me in a calmer state of mind and helped me focused positively. Some days when the nausea became worse, I opted to do guided meditation by Sir Sri Ravi Shankar, The founder of Art of Living. It gave so much relief. My friends, who I meditate with, suggested that I do Advanced meditation [ Art of living course 2 ] during pregnancy. Wow!!!! That’s the best thing I did during pregnancy. The advanced meditation was divine. Got totally energized and refreshed after the retreat. My friends where more generous to share prenatal yoga poses from Art of living website.   http...

Art Of Living Course I: The Stress Manager

"What do they do in Art of Living Course I? How dose breathing reduces stress?” are some questions my friends ask me. “It’s like explaining how the ice cream tastes to the person who has never eaten or seen an ice cream”. I can say the ice cream is creamy, sweet, yummy, tastes good, cold, different flavors and stuffs but the person listening to me will not understand as long as he tastes ice cream. Have you seen, sometimes, Lady bug lands on its back from the tree and don’t know how to turn over? It can struggle how much ever it can and how long ever it can but it is still on its back. This was how I react to stress before I took Art of Living Course I. Helpless. How nice will it be if you turn over the lady bug with a stick? The bug starts walking again. The work of the stick is exactly what AOL course I dose. Put you right back on track till you fall back again with stress. With regular breathing practice you learn to turn around by yourself and start walking again. Isn’t coo...

Art Of Living: The Ultimate Journey

My beautiful journey of Art of Living[AOL] started one and a half years back. “We are what our thoughts are. We reflect our thoughts. We are like a mirror reflecting our thoughts.” My mirror was covered with so much dust, dirt, spider webs and what not?   It was not even reflecting anything. What else do you expect when you keep the mirror in a place unattended for years together? The Art Of Living course[Course I] which was designed by the founder of AOL, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a blessing by itself. Sudarshan kriya was thought as a part of the course.   Sudarshan kriya was like a duster to remove the spider webs and a cloth to dust off my mirror. Regular practice scrubbed off even more dust off the mirror. To top it, there is Art of Meditation which is like a bucket of water to clean the mirror, Now my mirror was free of spider webs, dirt and dust. I learnt Sahaj meditation to wash of the mirror. Its going to get dirty again because of the stress and nature...
