My Cooking

Hi Everybody, [Especially for those who dont know how to cook]

My Cooking..... Some 4 yrs back when I was working, I could not even dream of cooking. I hold a bachelors degree in Engineering from Madras university. Majored in Computer science. I always had a "Who cares" attitude for cooking. It all started when I got engaged. Two months before my marriage my mom thought me the basics of cooking. Talking about my mom. She is an awesome cook. "The best", I will say.

Back in my engagement days, I wanted to impress my fiancée and tried few dishes for his birthday and luckily it came out well. After a week I invited one of my close friend and her mom over for lunch. My friend and I cooked Mushroom fried rice and Gobi Manchurian for the first time in our lives for our moms. I and my friend totally enjoyed the whole time we were in the kitchen.

I was so surprised to know how much I love to cook. Once I got married I quit my job and became a homemaker. Dont ask me if I can keep my house clean. But yes, I can cook. Whenever my colleagues or classmates come to know that I can cook. The expression is always the same "Elaavanya?????!!!!!!!????? cooking!!!!!????!!!!!"

Next time when your mom complains to you about you not spending time in the kitchen.....Dont even bother. "Necessity is the mother of all invention" When you need it you will learn it automatically. And only if you try something you will know if you really enjoy it or not.

When I first found out about the show on Bhaskara-II, I had questions - "Who is this guy? and why was he given so much importance in Math!!!!" I researched the  online resources on Bhaskara's works a bit. Something quickly struck a chord with me Bhaskara-II documents five different modes of multiplying two numbers, as practiced in those days. One of them is a split method. "What do they do in Art of Living Course I? How dose breathing reduces stress?” are some questions my friends ask me. “It’s like explaining how the ice cream tastes to the person who has never eaten or seen an ice cream”. Art Of Living: The Ultimate Journey

My beautiful journey of Art of Living[AOL] started one and a half years back. “We are what our thoughts are. We reflect our thoughts. We are like a mirror reflecting our thoughts.” My mirror was covered with so much dust, dirt, spider webs and what not?   It was not even reflecting anything. What else do you expect when you keep the mirror in a place unattended for years together? The Art Of Living course[Course I] which was designed by the founder of AOL, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a blessing by itself. Sudarshan kriya was thought as a part of the course.   Sudarshan kriya was like a duster to remove the spider webs and a cloth to dust off my mirror. Regular practice scrubbed off even more dust off the mirror.
